Consistency is one of the rarest qualities in legal practice. Anyone can deliver a strong result once, but sustaining excellence over time requires discipline, clarity of purpose and an unwavering commitment to clients.
At Clifford Law, our journey in negligence work reflects exactly that. Since 2021, we have been consistently recognised in the Negligence (Professional and Personal Injuries) category of the Singapore’s Best Law Firms survey. Every year from 2021 through 2026, our firm has received this award. This six-year run is something I hold with deep pride because it represents both the quality of our work and the trust of our clients.
The ranking is part of a rigorous National Survey based on more than twelve thousand recommendations from six thousand one hundred and seventy eight lawyers, clients and in house counsel across eighteen fields of practice (based on the 2023 statistics). Being recognised in a field as technical and demanding as negligence within that framework was an honour.
In 2023, The Straits Times featured our work in its article “Firms win plaudits for work in negligence”. The article highlighted a complex negligence case we handled which had been scheduled for a twenty eight day trial. By negotiating an out of court settlement, we spared our client the uncertainty and stress of a long public hearing. In that feature I shared that the recognition gave us pride and motivated us to continue working even harder for our clients.
That case remains one of the clearest examples of my philosophy in negligence practice. The real measure of success is often found in what does not happen. Avoiding a month long trial is not simply a procedural victory. It reflects careful planning, strategic empathy and an understanding that efficiency is sometimes the purest form of justice. It allows the client to move on without the burden of a prolonged dispute.
The awards did not stop in 2023. The Singapore’s Best Law Firms survey has continued into 2026 using a rigorous methodology that now spans twenty two fields of practice and draws from thousands of peer and client recommendations. And for every year from 2021 up to 2026, Clifford Law has maintained its place in the Negligence rankings.
This six year streak is more than a badge of honour. It is a reminder of the responsibility that comes with the trust our clients place in us. Technical excellence alone is never enough. The best results are achieved when expertise is paired with judgment, compassion and clarity.
As the award continues into 2026 and beyond, so does our commitment. The recognition motivates us not only to uphold our standard but to raise it, ensuring that every client who turns to us for help in their most difficult moments receives the care, precision and advocacy they deserve.
